“We are experiencing a generational change, and nowadays we are more aware than ever of how precious certain professional figures – almost disappeared after all – are in our sector. Especially when we speak about luxury, the category of “craft” artisans is at stake. They are key actors in handing down the art of cutting and tailoring, the custodians of the craftsmanship and incredibly creative work that gives life to our Made in Italy. This is why there is an almost natural need for some of the big luxury brands to join forces to create a centre of excellence in the Novara area: to relaunch a profession that is on the verge of extinction, to do so with local resources in the area, without looking for them abroad, and to involve young people in discovering an activity that is certainly rewarding for those with creative talents”.
Claudio Marenzi, President of HERNO
Istituto Secoli, with the support of the Municipality of Novara and in partnership with Gucci, Herno, IN.CO., Versace and Zamasport, which have their offices in the Novara area where they design and produce their collections, is inaugurating a school of excellence with an educational path that takes the form of training and direct experience within these companies.
Dedicated to the training of “prototypists”, the aim is to grow the knowledge that underlies the “know-how” that defines the exclusivity of the Made in Italy clothing product.
